GRIT PIT AND CHANNEL CLEANING

CATAGORY: Plumbing system maintenance or repair

PURPOSE:  To establish an Indefinite Quantity Agreement to purchase GRIT PIT, CHANNEL AND VAULT CLEANING SERVICE, AT THE HAP CREMEAN WATER PLANT, 4250 MORSE ROAD, COLUMBUS, OHIO 43230 as listed herein on an as needed basis.  The estimated dollar amount to be spent on this agreement is:  $50,000.00.
Subsequent to the acceptance of an offer, individual written purchase orders may be issued as needed by the City to purchase items listed herein during the term of the agreement.  At no time shall the obligation of the City agency exceed the dollar amount of an associated purchase order.
The funds available on the Purchase Order expire on 8/01/2027.  Any available funds balance not obligated by the City by means of a Purchase Order on or prior to that date shall be cancelled after that date.
Prices shall be FOB Destination Freight Prepaid & Allowed unless otherwise specified.

REQUIREMENTS: 
Provide all equipment, labor, supervision and other material needed to perform service to vacuum removal of deposits of sand and lime tailings from the Plants 22 x 60 x 12 Grit Pit, various channels and vaults (approximately 650 - 750 cubic yards), at the City of Columbus, Hap Cremean Water Plant, 4250 Morse Road, Columbus, Ohio 43230.

1. All removed material shall be transported to, and disposed of on-site in an area north of the work location within the plant grounds.

2. The accumulated waste material to be removed varies in depth. Some material in the various channels may need to be lifted from a depth as much as 40 feet.  

3. Prior to the waste removal, the average depth of material shall be measured by Representatives from the City and the Contractor. 

4. Payment for services shall be based on the mutually agreed upon total volume of material to be removed. 

5. All bids must be submitted as a cost of material removed and based on a price per cubic yard.   

6. The Contractor shall bear the sole responsibility of providing all personal protective equipment, outer wear, and any other items that may be needed to ensure worker safety and compliance with all pertinent regulatory requirements, OSHA regulations and City policies.

7. A Plant Safety Briefing will be required for ALL contractor personnel scheduled for work at the site.  This meeting typically is one hour in length and must be successfully accomplished by ALL contractor personnel prior to any start of work.

8. This work shall be scheduled within one week of notification to the contractor, by the City. Work will be permitted between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Mon. - Fri. (Sat & Sun. If needed, upon approval).
