Description
Oregon State University intends to contract for the provision of a Tissue-Tek VIP6 Processor from Sakura Finetek as a sole source because of its ability to meet compatibility requirements of an existing line of equipment. OSU currently uses a Tissue-Tek VIP 6 instrument and purchasing the same model would provide a compatible instrument that could utilize interchangeable parts, reagents, etc., allowing for continuous workflow and no downtime. Additionally, the instruments are set up on the same network, so no additional IT infrastructure would be required, saving time and money. Technicians are currently trained to use the Tissue-Tek VIP instruments and purchasing a different instrument would require additional training, delaying use of the new instrument and creating downtime to the critical level of efficient workload that the OSU laboratory needs to maintain. An entity may appeal this determination in accordance with OSU Standard 03-010. Section 5.17 no later than the closing date indicated on the website. Appeals must be submitted to the Office of Procurement, Payment and Travel at
