Bid Type: Job Contract Locations: Bennington Keywords: Construction (Building), Stream Restoration, Environmental Conservation Bid Description: Clearing and grubbing, including approximately 31 trees greater than three inches diameter breast height (DBH), removal of two berms, installation of a strategic wood addition on river right upstream of the slope failure utilizing trees removed from the site or brought to the site that measure 20” or greater DBH, cut into logs measuring 44” or longer (some with root ball intact), installation of a bar buddy utilizing a 30” DBH ash tree located along the riverbank to be removed with its root ball attached, reconnection of an existing overflow channel along river left adjacent to the slope failure, and placement of seed and mulch. The bar buddy installation will place approximately 20 cubic yards of woody debris in the river (fifteen of which will be below ordinary high water), and require additional ballasting utilizing the nine cubic yards of substrate excavated to facilitate overflow channel reconnection. The project includes minimal channel regrading. Note that the tree removal portion of this project will need to happen ASAP - before April 15 due to regulations surrounding endangered bats.
