This will be a selective alteration on twoHydraulic elevators serving the FC1 office building. The resultant elevatorsystem will maximize the reliability and extend the usable lifespan of theequipment. The design shall be as energy efficient as possible. The projectwill correct code violations within the hoistway, pit, machinery space, andcontrol room. The intent is to create a system with the longest life span andmake it as reliable possible. All parts of the elevator system will be broughtinto compliance with the latest adopted codes. The latest technology shall beutilized to provide the most current safety features available. The buildingwill be continually occupied during the construction period. The contractorwill need to provide an accessible route for the building’s occupants andalways keep one elevator in service. Temporary screening shall be installedinside the hoistway during the construction process to protect the workersinside the hoistway and to prevent interference with the car left in operation.The contractor shall provide routine monthly service and respond to calls forrepair or entrapment twenty-four hours a day on the car that is in operationfor the entire period of construction and warranty.
