Norwich Free Academy Tirrell Cafeteria Renovation

NFA’s cafeteria, located in the lower level of the Tirrell Building, serves 2,100 students and requires modernization. The project includes aesthetic upgrades such as new flooring, paint, lighting, laminate facades, ceiling baffles, and cleaning of windows and fans. New millwork will add seating and support a microwave station, along with new trash enclosures. The deli line will be replaced with a larger unit to improve service capacity and offerings. This requires minor plumbing extensions but no additional mechanical systems or increased sanitary load. New half walls will separate service and dining areas and support point-of-service stations. The project will be competitively bid and awarded to the lowest qualified bidder prequalified with DAS under C.G.S. 4a-100 as a General Contractor (Group A) or Construction Manager at Risk (Group A).
