RFB - Arcata Sports Complex Softball Field Lighting Efficiency Project

The City of Arcata (City) is soliciting bids for the Arcata Sports Complex Softball Field Lighting Efficiency Project. The Project includes lighting efficiency upgrades to existing light fixtures at the Arcata Sports Complex Softball Fields located at/near 321 Dr. M.L.K. Jr Parkway in Arcata, California.

The Work consists of fixture replacement with owner furnished LED fixtures as outlined in Attachment A: Scope of Work.

No formal pre-bid meeting is scheduled. Bidders are welcome and encouraged to visit the job site prior to bid submittal. Bidders may request a staff-hosted site walkthrough by contacting the City point of contact below.

Projected duration of this project is May through October 2025.

Proposals will be received at the City Manager’s Office, 736 F Street, Arcata, California until 11 AM on Thursday, April 24, 2025. Proposals must be submitted within a sealed envelope labeled: “Arcata Sports Complex Softball Field Lighting Efficiency Project.” All responses must be made on the Bid Proposal and Schedule provided in Attachment B to be considered for award.  The Request for Bids Package for this Work can be obtained on the City’s website, www.cityofarcata.org under “Bid.”

Contractors must possess a Class C-10 Electrical Contractor’s License, possess a valid Business License from the City of Arcata prior to commencing work, and demonstrate the necessary qualifications to complete the work described in the Scope of Work in Attachment A. The selected contractor will enter into a construction contract (Attachment C - Sample Construction Contract) prior to commencing work.

The City of Arcata has determined that prevailing wages apply to this Project. The selected contractor must register with the State Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5 prior to award of a contract.
