Introduction & Background
The City of Bonner Springs is located primarily in Western Wyandotte County Kansas and hosts a population of approximately 8,000 people. The City of Bonner Springs is requesting information to assist in the planning, design, and installation of a community splash pad within the next 5 years.
There are at least three different sites where a splash pad could be located as called out in the 2018 Parks & Recreation Master Plan: Centennial Park, 126 Cedar Street; Center Park, 120 North Nettleton Ave; Lions Park, 300 West Morse Ave.
Scope of Services
The City of Bonner Springs desires information from qualified firms to plan and construct a community splash pad in one of the above-mentioned parks. Following the closing date for this Request for Information, the City shall review submittals to make an informed decision on whether to move forward with a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a contract.
The City is most interested in a sensor activated splash pad with a repurpose system that uses water from a city main, distributed to the spray features, then discharged and cleaned into a storage tank for irrigation or other watering purposes. However, information on other options such as a recirculation system is needed.
