Project Description: The Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District (SMART) is a Special District within the State of California that owns, maintains, and operates passenger rail service in Sonoma County and Marin County. In addition to passenger rail service, SMART is a common carrier that owns and operates freight rail services within Sonoma County, Marin County, and Napa County.
SMART is seeking bids from qualified suppliers to furnish, deliver, unload, and stack a quantity of 540 New Railroad Ties with Creosote Treatment and End Plates that are 7” x 9” x 9’ to SMART’s Freight Depot located in Sonoma, California. The goods shall be delivered within 30 calendar days following SMART's issuance of a Purchase Order.
The awarded bidder will need to provide a forklift and operator in order to unload and stack the railroad ties at the delivery location.
This purchase is funded using a State of California grant and local funds.
