ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed bids will be received by the City of Bainbridge Island for the 2026 ANNUAL ROADS PROJECT until 9:30 am, May 20, 2026 , May 27, 2026 at the City Hall Finance Front Desk, 280 Madison Avenue N., Bainbridge Island, Washington, 98110 and will be opened and publicly read out loud at 10:00 am on May 20, 2026 May 27, 2026.

All bid proposals must be on the form provided and must be accompanied by a bid surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid proposal. A bid surety may be submitted as a cashier’s check, postal money order, or surety bond. (The amount of the surety bond may be stated either as a dollar amount or as a percentage of the bid proposal.) Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory payment and performance bonds within the time stated in this Project Manual, then the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Bainbridge Island.

Bids must be sealed with the outside of the envelope marked by the PROJECT NAME AND BID OPENING DATE. The name and address of the bidder should also appear on the outside of the envelope.  Faxed or electronic bids and/or surety bonds will not be accepted. After the date and hour set for the opening of bids, no bidder may withdraw its bid unless the award of the contract is delayed for a period exceeding 120 calendar days following the bid opening. All bidders agree to be bound by their bids until the expiration of the stated time period.

NATURE OF IMPROVEMENT:  The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, supplies, and incidentals necessary for the following major elements:

Island-wide asphalt repairs and patching including pulverizing existing road surface, milling, material removal, grading, and paving; as well as grind and overlay operations for the roads highlighted in the attached map - Appendix A.

The City of Bainbridge Island reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities in the bidding process. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. Bidders must meet the mandatory responsibility criteria required by RCW 39.04.350 and any supplemental criteria described in the Contract Documents. Bidders should verify they meet the responsibility criteria before submitting a bid.
