BUCK ISLAND ROAD SIDEWALKS
The Town of Yarmouth, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from Contractors for the Buck Island road Sidewalk PROJECT, located at Buck Island Road, West Yarmouth, MA 02673, in accordance with the documents prepared by Bowman Consulting Group LTD, dated September 2025.
Sealed Bids will be received at the Town of Yarmouth DPW, 74 Town Brook Road, West Yarmouth, MA 02673. until 2:00 pm prevailing time, on January 7, 2026.
The Work includes but is not limited to all material, labor and equipment to furnish and install hot mix asphalt sidewalk, cement concrete curb ramps, granite curb, hot mix asphalt berm, signage, and associated work along Buck Island Road from Town Brook Road to Higgins Crowell Road. The Work also includes the installation of a rectangular rapid flashing beacon system, which will need to be installed within 90 days of delivery from MassDOT.
MassDOT prequalification of contractors with the class of work as Highway – Sidewalk & Curbing for the project with an estimated value of $572,700 will be required.
Project substantial completion date is June 26, 2026.

Bids shall be in a sealed envelope bearing the words:
“ BUCK ISLAND RD SIDEWALK”
To receive consideration, bids shall be submitted on the appropriate forms no later than the above date and time for the opening. Proposals must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of FIVE PERCENT (5%) of the total bid price in the form of a bid bond or certified treasurer’s or cashier’s check issued by a responsible bank or trust company.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Labor and Materials Payment Bond in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the contract amount.
All bids for this project are subject to the provisions of all applicable Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 30B §39M Laws as amended, and other applicable Massachusetts General Laws. Prevailing Wage Rates as determined by the Director of the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development under the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27H, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the Bidder, before bid opening, to request if necessary, any additional information on Prevailing Wage Rates for those tradespeople who may be employed for the proposed work under this contract. Prevailing Wage Rates dated December 2, 2025 are applicable to this project.
A weekly certified payroll submittal shall be required of the successful bidder in accordance with MGL C149, S27B. No payments will be made by the Town until all payroll information necessary for the Town to determine compliance with prevailing wage law requirements for the time period of the payment request have been submitted. The Contractor shall not discriminate with regard to the personnel employed on this
project based on race, color, creed, national origin, gender, sexual preference, handicap or age.
Bidders are not to include in their bid proposal sales and compensating use taxes on materials and supplies
purchased for this project. All materials used are tax-exempt.
By submission of a bid, the Bidder agrees that this bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 30 days, Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays excluded after the opening of bids.
The Town of Yarmouth reserves the right to waive any informalities in bids and to reject any or all bids.
