where such proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud. Proposals may be hand delivered or mailed to the above location and must be received at such time.

Scope of work is to include all necessary labor, material, and equipment for the Upstate University Hospital South Wing IT & Power Upgrades.

The main features of the work shall include, but not be limited to the following.

Abatement:

Hazardous materials are anticipated to be encountered and abatement design has been incorporated into the Documents.

Architectural:

Contractor is responsible for following ICRA strategies as indicated in Documents including erection and implementation of barriers and/or negative air conditions to control potential risk of various contaminants in air and to adjacent spaces.

Led by electrical and associated mechanical scope, the architectural scope relates to access, repair, and replacement as a result of such work. Existing spaces on the 4th, 5th, and 8th floors will be converted into IMT Rooms with architectural scope including new flooring, installation of fire rated plywood for equipment mounting, removal and infill of existing doors while incorporating new doors for access. The 8th floor Kitchenette area will be reconfigured with a new layout, new millwork, new flooring, new ceiling assembly, and paint.

Fire Protection:

Replace existing pendent sprinkler(s) in Room 8707A with upright sprinklers and guards. Replace existing pendent sprinkler in Room 8708 with new pendent sprinkler in new ceiling grid.

HVAC:

Replace the existing Liebert cooling system in the existing fourth floor IMT Room and associated air-cooled condensing unit on the lower third floor roof near the loading dock. A new air-source heat pump located out at grade will serve four new / existing data closets on the third, fifth, seventh and eighth floor via wall-mounted ductless splits.

Electric:

Provide power, grounding, and bonding for South Wing UMU-IMT data network system. Provide normal and emergency power from basement electric room up to new UPS system on 4th floor and distribution from 4th floor to 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th floor IMT Rooms. Provide emergency and normal panels in each IMT room and ceiling cord drops at each data rack location in accordance with IMT requirements. Provide power to the HVAC equipment described above and provide power, data, and lighting for space renovations in 4th, 5th and 8th floor IMT rooms and 8th floor Kitchenette.

All work on this Contract is to be completed within 120 days after the date of the Notice to Proceed.

Section 143 of the State Finance Law requires payment of a deposit to receive these documents. Accordingly, a deposit check of $49.50 made payable to SUNY Upstate Medical University , is required. Deposits less than $50.00 are nonrefundable. Deposits will be waived for certified Minority and Women Owned and Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses.

A pre-bid conference and project walk-through will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 10:00 AM with all contractors assembled at the Main Lobby of University Hospital, 750 East Adams Street, Syracuse, New York.

Bids must be submitted in triplicate (3), which must have original signatures on the forms provided by the University, in accordance with the instructions contained in the Information for Bidders. Security will be required for each bid in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the Total Bid.

The State University of New York reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
