Description


Sealed Bids for the construction of the Carpenter Road Water Main Improvements will be received, by Tifton ¿ Tift County Water/Wastewater Department, at the Tifton City Hall, 130 E. 1st Street, Tifton, GA 31794, until 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 29, 2026, local time, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the office of Watkins & Associates, 1606 Whiddon Mill Road, Tifton, GA 31793.

The project work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to construct ± 1,394 L.F. of 8" PVC Water Main and ± 1,933 LF of 12" PVC Water Main, connection to existing water main via tapping sleeve and valve, erosion control, traffic control and all associated measures for the complete project. All work shall be completed in accordance with the plans and specifications. Time allotted for completion of work is 60 consecutive calendar days to substantial completion. The work will be awarded in one (1) Contract and any Contractor submitting a bid must be a licensed Utility Contractor by the State of Georgia. All bid forms must be accompanied by a Bid Bond or a certified cashier¿s check in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount bid. No bid may be withdrawn after the closing time for receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days.

Plan holders list, addenda and bid results are available at www.watkinseng.com. The City of Tifton reserves the right to waive all technicalities, reject any or all bids, and make an award in the best interest of the City.
