INSTRUCTION FOR SUBMITTING BIDS
The City of Union City is soliciting informal bids from qualified Contractors to complete the project
described herein. Instructions and requirements for completing a bid are described below.
1. Qualifications: Contractor shall possess a valid Class A California Contractor's license
and a City business license at the time the contract is awarded.
2. Project Description: Work generally includes removal and disposal of existing wingwall,
footing, and barrier; excavation and backfill; temporary shoring; temporary water pollution
control measures; construction of a new wingwa ll, footing and barrier; removal and

reconstruction of portion sidewalk and paved trail; removal and replacement of wood rail

and posts; and paint lumber and timber. The eBstimated cost of the construction is $100,000.

All prospective bidders must be listed on the plan holder's list to be eligible to bid the project.
To obtain the official bid docCuments and be placed on the project's Plan Holder List, email
Public Works at publicworks@unioncity.org.
The bid package is also available for viewing at the various Builders Exchanges throughout
the Bay Area. It shall be the bidder's responsibility to check the City's website from time to
time to ascertain if any addenda have been posted, and it will be the responsibility of the
bidder to acquire and acknowledge receipt of the addenda with their bid.
4. Bid Questions: For questions regarding this bid package, contact Tommy Cho,

opening. Where appropriate, the City may respond to such questions through procedures
outlined in the Instructions to Bidders.

7. Reply Format: All forms in the "Bid Proposal" Section (Pages B1-B9) shall be completed
and returned by the bid's due date. An e-mail submission is acceptable, however, the Bidder
is still responsible for ensuring that the bid is received. A bid bond is not required;
however, by submitting a bid proposal you agree, if selected as the successful bidder, to the
conditions described herein, and will return a signed copy of the City's Standard Agreement
and Forms along with the required bonds and insurance.
