NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS

Subject: Invitation to Bid on Purchase Order Contract PRB.32072

Project Description: Helene Relief – Design Bid Build Bridge Replacement over Hominy Creek

(Site 044-01-ea41a) on Scott Drive and over Turkey Creek (Site 044-01-

cdc5b) on Jade Drive

The North Carolina Department of Public Safety Emergency Management Division and the

Department of Transportation are requesting bids for design bid build bridge replacement on

private roads located at 51 Scott Drive, Canton, NC and 17 Jade Drive, Canton, NC in Haywood

County to be let at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

Because of the unusual nature of the work involved and in order for all prospective bidders

to have extensive knowledge of the project, an open, virtual Pre-Bid Conference will be held

for all interested parties on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 10:00 am.

This is not a mandatory pre-bid conference however all potential bidders are strongly

encouraged to attend.

Sealed bids must be received in the NC Department of Transportation Division Office at 55

Orange Street, Asheville, NC 28801 by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Bids must be

submitted on the official bid sheet included in the proposal and display the following statement

on the front of the envelope:

affirmatively insure that the contract entered into pursuant to this notice will be awarded to the

lowest responsible bidder without discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, color, or national

origin.
