NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE SOLE SOURCE AWARD
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Indian Health Service (IHS), Bemidji Area intends to award a Firm Fixed Priced Contract on a sole source basis to DataRay, for the Red Lake Hospital in Red Lake MN. The anticipated period of performance will be for a base plus 4 option years.
The sole source action will be issued under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.501(a) - only one source reasonably available. DataRay is the only single source entity that can satisfy agency requirements for the purpose of point of care application for validation of medication administration that supports “real-time” recording of medications given to hospital inpatients and provides positive patient identification for Emergency Department and Laboratory through bar-code patient wristbands printing system. The service unit purchased DataRay and this vendor has proprietary ownership over software and support for these products; Data Ray has the unique ability to have remote access to the IHS EHR platform.
