Request for Tender for construction services as follows:
• Bridge rehabilitation of five (5) bridges: Kipling Avenue over Gardiner Expressway (Bridge ID229), Islington Avenue over Gardiner Expressway (Bridge ID272), Gardiner Expressway Structures over Mimico Creek (Bridge ID416), Gardiner Expressway Overpasses over Park Lawn Road (Bridge ID417), and Westbound On-Ramp over Mimico Creek (Bridge ID423). |
| Specific Conditions for Procurement: |
1.The Supplier must have the following experience in order to be considered for award of the Contract:
•At least two (2) bridge projects with an aggregate value of $20,000,000.00 Canadian dollars total excluding taxes in the last ten (10) years, OR three (3) bridge projects with an aggregate value of $25,000,000.00 Canadian dollars total excluding taxes in the last ten (10) years. •Each reference project value must be in excess of $6,000,000.00 Canadian dollars total excluding taxes and must have involved bridge rehabilitation, bridge replacement or improvement work on an urban expressway in a major municipality. 2.The Supplier shall engage the services of a Specialist Contractor for bridge jacking design and performance. The Specialist Contractor must have had previous experience in the jacking of at least two (2) other bridges each with construction value in excess of $6,000,000.00 Canadian dollars total excluding taxes. The Specialist Contractor shall be, or engage the services of an engineer, licensed by the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario. 3.The Supplier and any subcontractor must submit evidence that the Contractor or the subcontractor has extensive experience in fabrication of prestressed concrete girders in accordance to the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC, CAN/CSA-S6-19), OPSS.MUNI 909, and MTO Structural Manual. In order to prove that they have the required experience, the Supplier must provide the following information of at least two (2) projects completed in the past ten (10) years to demonstrate performance in similar work: 4.The Supplier shall employ the services of a Qualified Person as defined by O.Reg.153/04 and O.Reg.406/19 with a minimum ten (10) years of work-related soil management experience in projects of similar size, scope, and complexity to the Work; a current licence in good standing with Professional Engineers of Ontario of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario; knowledge of Environmental Protection Act (Ontario), O. Reg. 153/04 and O. Reg. 406/19; knowledge of relevant federal and Ontario environmental policies, procedures and legislation/regulations; experience liaising with other specialty consultants, contractors, agencies, and governmental authorities; and experience with similar projects in the province of Ontario related to excess soil. 5.Each Supplier shall acquire and upload a copy of a valid Certificate of Recognition (COR®) or Equivalent OHS Certification in the legal name of the Supplier or in the case of a joint Bid, for, and in the name of, each member of the Joint Bid Team. |
