The Sports & Exhibition Authority will receive pricing for the cleanout of the main sump in the
wastewater treatment plant at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Inquiries regarding this

Scope of Work
Cleanout of Main Sump in the WWTP
1. The work consists of Clean out of Main Sump at the David L. Lawrence
Convention Center (DLCC) as described below:
a. Prior to beginning any work:
i. The contractor will possess all permits and insurance required
to complete the project.
ii. The contractor will provide removal/disposal site information (per
the DLCC Construction Waste Policy).
iii. A Permit Required Confined Space (PRCS) entry will be required.
Contractor shall comply with all OSHA PRCS requirements
iv. The contractor will review and sign off on the Veolia safety manual.
v. Engine Company #3 is at 1401 Penn Ave. 412-255-2271 will
be contacted and provided with the location of the project.
vi. All the areas being worked in will be cordoned off to prevent the entry
of the general public.
b. After the safety requirements are met:
i. The Main Sump contains domestic sanitary wastewater sludge/solids.
It will be emptied and cleaned by the contractor. Base bid is 15,000
gallons. Contractor to quote additional price per gallon over 15,000.
ii. Contractor shall utilize a “high vacuum” vac truck with a minimum
vacuum of 27” Hg and 5000 cfm. Contractor shall submit specifications
of proposed unit to be used.
iii. The contractor shall supply the water needed to clean/ convey material
from tank. Excessive water for dilution will not be permitted
iv. The contractor will provide receipts for gallons removed.
c. With the pump out and cleaning completed:
i. The contractor will inspect and photograph the entire tank.
ii. Provide the client (DLCC) with a copy of the tank photos, a
written evaluation of the tank condition, and recommendations
for repair or refurbishment if needed.
iii. All of the work areas will be cleaned and left free of all debris for
the duration of this project.
d. Warranty of Parts and Labor
i. To be submitted with final payment request
