Title: Water Treatment Plant Feeder Channel Dredging Phase 1B
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 1/9/2026
Due Date: 1/29/2026
The City of Richmond, Virginia (the “City”), on behalf of the Department of Public Utilities (“DPU”), seeks bids from qualified firms for general construction services related to the Water Treatment Plant Feeder Channel Dredging project (the “Project”). The Project will entail mechanical dredging of the Water Treatment Plant feeder channel, which is necessary to maintain the Treatment Plant’s optimal capacity for water delivery (the “Work”). Further details concerning the Work are more particularly described below in the Statement of Work.
The Water Treatment Plant (“WTP”) currently has a capacity of 130 million gallons of water (MGD) per day. The WTP receives water from the James River via a feeder channel, where large and small particles are removed with settling basins and filtration systems. It is essential for the capacity of the feeder channel to be maintained, so the City can provide water to its customers in the City as well as neighboring counties. The Work is intended to provide the maintenance necessary to promote optimal treatment capacity at the WTP.
