Towing/Wrecker Service Specifications:
Aiken County Government is soliciting sealed bids for Towing/Wrecker Service on Contract for the Aiken
County Sheriff's Office and Aiken County Public Works, (Shop). This contract will be awarded to one vendor.
1. Vendor will provide towing services 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
2. Communications is required, as follows - Vendors who dispatch their vehicle by two-way radio, must have
cell phone for the County to contact them.
3. Selected contract vendor must obtain insurance as follows:
a. Comprehensive General Liability - $1,000,000 per occurrence for bodily injury $2,000,000 on the
aggregate
b. Comprehensive Automobile - $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident for bodily injury
and $10,000 for property damage.
c. Workman's Compensation - Coverage for all individual engaged in any work under this contract,
and meeting requirements of S.C. laws or minimum of $500,000.
A copy of the insurance certificate with Aiken County as "additional insured" will be required at contract
execution.
4. All prices for towing service shall be a flat fee except as noted. County staff will make every effort to
minimize the driver's wait time at accidents; however, there will be times when it may be necessary for a
driver to wait at a tow. Pricing should allow for a maximum wait time of 30 minutes.
5. No mileage charges will be assessed for vehicle towed within the boundaries of Aiken County.
6. Vendors must be able to lift units by front wheels or axles, no slings.
7. Vendor must submit invoices to Procurement with a copy emailed to rmcgee_pwk@aikencountysc.gov.
Copy of tow bill must be emailed within 24 hours after tow.
Shop Contract:
This contract will cover towing services, when required, for Aiken County vehicles from any point within the
boundaries of Aiken County, to the Aiken County Maintenance Shop, 643 May Royal Drive, Aiken, South
Carolina. The custodian of the vehicle may request that the vehicle be towed to another point within the
boundaries of Aiken County, if necessary. The County Maintenance Shop will be the contact.

Sheriff Contract:
The contract will cover towing services, when required, for Aiken County Sheriff's Office when arrests are made
for: drug seizure vehicles, DUS/DUI vehicles (4th offense or more), stolen or abandoned vehicles and vehicles
requiring crime scene processing. Vehicles under this contact are listed in part A below. Vehicles will be towed
from any point within Aiken County to the Aiken County Sheriff's Office, 420 Hampton Avenue, NE, Aiken,
South Carolina. The Sheriff's Office may request that the vehicle be towed to another point within the
boundaries of Aiken County if necessary. The Aiken County Sheriff's Office will be the contact.
