Description
This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for quotations. A solicitation document will not be issued, and quotations will not be requested.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center, Office of Purchasing and Contracts, on behalf of the Department of Laboratory Medicine, intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract on a sole source basis to:

The purpose of this acquisition is to obtain a preventive maintenance and service agreement for the Prisma Plus Automated Slide Stainer and Tissue-Tek Glas g2 Slide Cover slipper.
These systems are critical to the NIH Clinical Center’s laboratory operations, which support patient care, clinical diagnostics, and biomedical research.

Justification for Sole Source
Sakura Finetek USA, Inc. is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and the only source capable of providing:
Only the OEM maintains exclusive access to proprietary service documentation, diagnostics, and validated performance requirements necessary to ensure continued operation of these mission-critical systems.
Market Research
Market research has determined that Sakura Finetek USA, Inc. is the only responsible source capable of meeting the Government’s requirements. No other vendors have been identified that can provide the required OEM-certified services and support.

This notice is not a request for competitive quotations. However, any responsible source that believes it can meet the requirement may submit a capability statement.
