Addendum 1: Response to Bidder Questions, Site Plan, and Video
• The purpose of this addendum is to respond to bidder questions from (1) the August

Response to Bidder Questions
Do firms need to meet the MBE/WBE goal to qualify for the project?
A bidder will not be disqualified for failing to meet the MBE/WBE goal if they submit
an approved MBE/WBE waiver with their proposal. Instructions for obtaining a
waiver are included on page 11 of the RFP. Additionally, all bidders must complete
the top portion of the MBE/WBE Participation Plan form on page 10 of the RFP and
submit it with your proposal.
Do the Apprenticeship and First Source requirements on page 13 of the RFP
apply to this project.
No. This project is considered a maintenance project, not a construction project.
What is the name of the contractor who originally attempted to video the
interior of the stormwater pipe at Public Street.

Who is responsible for disposal of sediment removed from the pipe.
Sediment removed form the pipe shall be decanted into a sewer manhole located at
the project area. The sediment will then be driven to a Providence DPW lot near 700
Allens Ave. where it will be emptied. Providence DPW will then reload the sediment
into one of their trucks and transport it to RIRRC for disposal. As such, disposal
costs do not need to be included in the bid price for this project.
