IWWTP Direct Connection 1 & 2

The project will remove and replace two severely deteriorated manholes at the City’s Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant (IWWTP) that convey critical sanitary sewer bypass flows, sludge, and excess recycled water to The Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority (VVWRA). The replacement manholes will be constructed of polymer concrete to provide enhanced durability and corrosion resistance in high-strength wastewater environments. The project will also modify the existing goose-neck discharge configuration by redesigning the connection to provide a direct discharge into the new polymer concrete manholes, thereby reducing turbulence, minimizing corrosive conditions, and improving long-term structural reliability. In addition, the Contractor shall furnish and install submersible stainless steel slide gate assemblies with motorized actuators for the 51-inch and 16-inch diameter openings within the Plant Influent Box Manhole at the IWWTP to provide improved operational flexibility and more efficient flow control for plant operators.
