The City of Saco is requesting proposals from interested and qualified contractors that are experienced with in-stream habitat restoration work and installation of woody debris material within waterbodies to improve the water quality of freshwater streams. The City has been awarded a phase IV, 319 grant and is under contract with the Maine DEP to conduct an in-stream habitat restoration project within Bear Brook (tributary stream to Goosefare Brook), which is an urban impaired stream designated under Chapter 502 of the Maine Stormwater Management Rules and is listed as impaired on the State of Maine, 2024 303(d) list. The overall purpose of the grant is to restore the water quality and stream habitat in Bear Brook.Â
All proposals are due and must be delivered to the Department of Public Works at 15 Phillips Spring Road in Saco, Maine on or before April 16, 2025, by 1:00 pm. Please see the Bid Specifications for additional information.
