CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF VAN BUREN
BID INSTRUCTIONS FOR
IRON BELLE TRAIL SECTION I
Sealed proposals will be received by the Van Buren Township at the office of the
Township Clerk, 46425 Tyler Road, Van Buren, Michigan 48111 until 2:00 p.m. local
time (EST), on May 19, 2026 for construction of this project. Proposals are to be
delivered to the Township Clerk’s Office in a sealed envelope marked on the
outside as described in the RFP.
Project Description:
The project consists of constructing a variable width concrete sidewalk and is
located along the south side of East Huron River Drive. The project begins at the
east end of Riggs Park along Huron River Drive and connects to the existing
pathway on the south side of Huron River Drive. The project includes the
development of approximately 2,000 square feet of 5’ wide concrete sidewalk
and 22,200 square feet of 7’ wide concrete sidewalk. The project is split into two
phases – Phase 1 and Phase 2. For the purpose of these bid documents, only
Phase 1 estimated quantities are included.

file and may be examined at the following locations:

Each proposal shall be accompanied by a certified check or acceptable bid
bond for a sum not less than five percent (5%) of the proposal amount. All
questions regarding clarification or interpretation of the documents shall be

The right is reserved by Van Buren Township to accept any proposal, to reject
any proposal, and to waive irregularities in proposals. No bid may be withdrawn
after the above date and time for receiving bids for a period of one-hundred-
twenty (120) days.
