Description
The Woodward Resource Center in Woodward, Iowa, operates a warehouse on their campus termed the Central Distribution Center (CDC) which will serve as the point of origin for transportation services identified in this RFP. The CDC houses warehouse items including, but not limited to, food items, eating utensils (e.g., spoons, knives, ladles, plastic spork, spoodles), cooking items (e.g., ladles, tongs, dippers, oven mitts), cleaning items (scouring pads) and sanitary paper products (e.g., facial tissue, napkins, paper towels, toilet paper) used by the above referenced Agencies. The CDC warehouse is approximately 33,000 square feet with two docks for loading and unloading Product.
The Agency currently delivers CDC Product to three Agency customers, including five Department of Health and Human Services facilities, nine DOC facilities throughout the state (including multiple residential homes), and the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. In total, Agency Customers encompass 22 separate delivery locations. All loads originate at the CDC, Monday through Friday, departing at 5:30 or 6 AM depending on the specific route and/or Customer delivery time. The Agency currently loads all trailers and ensures counts of all product.
