Title: Pathway to Success: Youth Aptitude Assessment Pilot
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 1/31/2025
Due Date: 3/11/2025
The City of St. Petersburg is deeply committed to fostering education, youth opportunities, career readiness, and workforce development to prepare its young residents for thriving futures. Central to this mission is ensuring that youth have access to tools and resources that empower them to explore career pathways, identify their strengths, and build the skills needed to succeed in today’s dynamic workforce. By investing in innovative initiatives like the Pathway to Success: Youth Aptitude Assessment Pilot, the City aims to create transformative opportunities that inspire growth, equity, and success among young people.
This work is vital to bridging the gap between education and career exploration, particularly for youth ages 14-18 who are at a critical stage of planning their academic and professional journeys. Through the YouScience aptitude assessment, participants will gain meaningful insights into their aptitudes and potential career paths. This data-driven approach ensures that every youth—regardless of background—can envision and achieve a future aligned with their unique strengths and interests.
The City is seeking qualified vendors to submit proposals with proven experience in youth engagement, particularly in leadership development, mentoring, or similar fields. The selected vendor(s) will play an important role in helping youth interpret their assessment results and create actionable plans for their futures. This pilot program will directly benefit participating youth by equipping them with knowledge about their strengths and potential career paths. Additionally, it will provide the City with critical insights and recommendations on best practices for administering and applying the YouScience aptitude assessment. These findings will help the City determine how to effectively incorporate this approach into its broader strategy for supporting youth as they plan their academic and professional lives, ensuring a thoughtful and impactful investment in St. Petersburg's future.
The City of St. Petersburg seeks to support youth, ages 14-18 (9th to 12th graders), in identifying their college and career pathways through the implementation of the YouScience aptitude assessment. This pilot project will be used to facilitate the administration and evaluation of this assessment, ensuring it reaches a diverse and representative group of students. The City of St. Petersburg currently holds a YouScience license that will be used for this project.
