INVITATION FOR BIDS
The South Georgia Regional Library System ("SGRL") will accept sealed bids from Georgia
Licensed General Contractors for The Willis L. Miller Library Project - Phase 2, located at 2906
Julia Drive, Valdosta, Georgia ("Project Site"). Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 P.M. local
time, Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the McMullen Southside Library, 527 Griffin Avenue, Valdosta,
Georgia, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids may not be mailed to
McMullen Southside Library. It is the bidder's sole responsibility to ensure that its bid is
delivered to the designated location prior to the bid opening time. Bids must be submitted in a
sealed envelope clearly marked "The Willis L. Miller Library Project - Phase 2." No bid will be
considered if received after the submission deadline of 2:00 pm local time, Thursday,
May 7, 2026 specified for submission of bids. A Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at
the Project Site at 10:00 A.M. local time on Thursday, April 23, 2026.
The Work generally consists of repairs and renovations to the Willis L. Miller Library, a one-
story, approximately 36,128-square-foot facility located at 2906 Julia Drive, Valdosta, Georgia,
which sustained significant damage during Hurricane Helene in September 2024. The project
includes restoration of storm-damaged building components, protection of existing finishes to
remain, and construction of a small building addition. Work includes demolition and
reconstruction of approximately 5,300 gross square feet of the rear portion of the building on the
southwest side, and construction of a new 1,600 gross square foot addition to accommodate
office functions. The existing facility is fully sprinklered.
Bid documents may be obtained at the print shop Print Life Printing & Supplies, LLC located at
1006 Williams Street, Valdosta, GA 31601, Phone: 229-244 5598; email
info@printlifevaldosta.com. Print Life Printing & Supplies will keep a Bidders List. Contractors,
subcontractors, suppliers and all other interested parties may obtain plans and specifications for
the Project ("Documents") by contacting Print Life Printing & Supplies directly. The Cost of each
set of Documents is $300.00 and does not include shipping and is non-refundable.
The Contractor shall comply in every respect with all applicable laws, regulations, and building
and construction codes of the Federal Government, the State of Georgia, and the City of
Valdosta, and shall obtain all such licenses and permits as shall be prescribed by law.
The SGRL reserves the right to reject any one or all bids, or any part of any bid, to waive any
informalities in any bid, and to award a contract deemed to be in the best interest of the
SGRL. Bids may be held by the SGRL for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date
of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of
bidders, prior to awarding the contract.
