Description:

The New York State Education Department (NYSED) New York State School for the Deaf is seeking bids for the Playground Project. The work of this project includes, but is not limited to, survey and layout, removal and disposal of existing playground equipment, site preparation, procurement and installation of new playground equipment and 2 double-sided communication boards (playground equipment listing included), installation of compacted gravel for placement of poured rubber, and poured in place rubber surface. Not To Exceed $620,000.

Subcontracting will be allowed. Subcontracting is defined as non-employee direct personal services and related incidental expenses, including travel.

NYSED will award one (1) contract pursuant to this IFB. The contract resulting from this IFB will be for a term anticipated to begin March 1, 2025 and to end December 31, 2025.

Bidders are required to comply with NYSED’s Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (M/WBE) participation goals for this IFB through one of three methods. Compliance methods are discussed in detail in the Minority/Women-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) Participation Goals section below.

Site Visit: Interested bidders are offered the opportunity to view the playground location before bidding. Site visits can be set up with Nicole Caldwell at either Nicole.caldwell@nysed.gov or 315-337-8400, option #5 for business office. Site visits can be scheduled between 7 am – 3:30 pm Monday through Friday and should be completed by January 17, 2025.

Questions: Questions regarding the request must be submitted via online form no later than the close of business January 21, 2025. Questions regarding this request should be identified as Program, Fiscal or M/WBE. A Questions and Answers Summary will be posted to the NYS Contract Reporter no later than January 24, 2025.
