Title: Ocean Center Entertainment Consulting Services
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 2/25/2025
Due Date: 4/1/2025
Ocean Center staff reserve the right to review and approve all artists and performers to ensure alignment with our venue’s standards and audience expectations.
When booking events at the Ocean Center, it is essential to consult the available calendar, which includes city-wide events such as Bike Week, Biketoberfest, Daytona 500, Coke Zero 400, Jeep Beach, Rolex 24, Welcome to Rockville, and other large-scale activities. These events can significantly impact venue availability and must be carefully considered during the booking process. Some events may provide opportunities for concerts or performances that complement the city's activities, while others will restrict booking due to scheduling conflicts or logistical challenges. Additionally, the arena has dates reserved for other contracted events, and all bookings should be coordinated with both the building-wide event schedule and other county events that may affect availability. To ensure smooth planning, please refer to the Ocean Center Calendar for 2025-2027 for the most current scheduling information.
For all technical details and requirements, please refer to the Tech Pack, which includes necessary descriptions and specifications.
Currently, the Ocean Center is a Ticketmaster venue and will manage all ticket sales for both Promoter-driven and Internally-driven events. The contract with Ticketmaster is up for renewal in 2026, and the OC may transition to another ticketing provider. Regardless of the ticketing platform, the Ocean Center will continue to manage all ticket sales.
The deal structure is included in the Tech Pack. All contracts with artists and acts are open to negotiation based on agent requirements, including promoter bumps, ticket rebates, merchandising, backstage catering, and other relevant terms. The booking agent will work with staff to develop mutually agreed-upon terms.
The Ocean Center General Manager will serve as Point of Contact.
Originally built in 1985, the Ocean Center once stood as Central Florida’s premier entertainment hub, hosting iconic acts like Elton John, Usher, and Fleetwood Mac. While the focus on entertainment bookings shifted over the past decade, the venue’s remarkable legacy endures. Today, guided by the vision of the County Council, we are committed to revitalizing this legacy by reintroducing concerts and ticketed events to the Ocean Center, positioning it once again as a cornerstone of live entertainment in the region.
The Ocean Center is a versatile, dynamic venue equipped to host a wide range of productions and events. The arena features 42,000 square feet of space, flexible seating and stage configurations for up to 8,400 attendees, robust rigging capabilities, and advanced sound and lighting systems. With convenient loading dock access, the arena ensures operational efficiency for even the most complex productions.
Complementing the arena, the Ocean Center’s 93,000-square-foot exhibit hall provides a versatile space that can accommodate up to 5,000 attendees in a variety of flexible setups. This expansive and adaptable hall offers endless possibilities for productions of all sizes and styles, making it an ideal venue for music festivals, creative productions like Electronic Dance Music (EDM) events, and much more.
Additionally, the 12,000-square-foot ballroom combines elegance and functionality, providing an intimate setting for up to 1,000 guests. Its sophisticated design makes it perfect for upscale concerts or other special events. Together, these spaces enable the Ocean Center to cater to a broad spectrum of entertainment opportunities, offering unique settings for both large-scale productions and more personal experiences.
In 2024, the Ocean Center hosted 14 ticketed events, including three comedy shows that each sold over 7,000 tickets, three concerts, AMA events, the Harlem Globetrotters, and a monster truck show. These successes highlight the arena’s strong potential for growth in entertainment bookings.
In celebration of its 40 th Anniversary, the Ocean Center is embarking on a strategic initiative to elevate their entertainment offerings and establish the Ocean Center as premier destinations for live events in Central Florida. To realize this vision, we are seeking a forward-thinking and experienced partner to help unlock the full potential of the OC. By attracting world-renowned artists, diversifying event programming, and enhancing community engagement, we aim to create unparalleled entertainment experiences for both residents and visitors.
Additionally, Volusia County boasts another exceptional venue: a 700-seat outdoor amphitheater adjacent to the Lyonia Environmental Center in Deltona. While primarily used for smaller events in recent years, the amphitheater has tremendous potential to evolve into a vibrant community hub. Plans are underway to expand its programming, transforming it into a premier, local destination for live music, theatrical performances, educational events, and community gatherings in a scenic open-air setting. The Lyonia Center is currently undergoing renovation, with an anticipated opening/availability of Spring or Summer 2026.
Together, these venues are embarking on a strategic initiative to elevate their entertainment offerings and establish the Ocean Center and Lyonia Environmental Amphitheater as premier destinations for live events in Central Florida. To realize this vision, we are seeking a forward-thinking and experienced partner to help unlock the full potential of these facilities.
