Bid Type: Job Contract Locations: Caledonia, Franklin, Lamoille Keywords: Engineering , Floodplain Delineation, Planning and Design Services, Stream Restoration, Environmental Consultant Services Bid Description: Northwest Regional Planning Commission (NRPC), on behalf of the Northern Vermont Economic Development District (NVEDD), received a grant from the United States Economic Development Administration to enhance flood recovery efforts. The funding will be used to complete a Recovery and Resilience Plan for the District with a specific focus on communities along the main stem of the Lamoille River. Specific focus areas will include Hardwick, Wolcott, Johnson, Jeffersonville, and Cambridge, Fairfax and Georgia. The plan will be informed by a science-based comprehensive vulnerability assessment which will utilize and improve the Lamoille County Regional Planning Commission’s existing hydrologic model of the Lamoille main stem and key tributaries to assess flood vulnerability, identify possible measures to reduce flood risks and improve the resiliency of village center business districts, and identify possible locations for voluntary placement of new critical economic development infrastructure in more resilient locations. The NVEDD is seeking qualified consultants to complete the hydraulic modeling associated with this planning and risk assessment effort.
