The USDA Forest Service submits this RFI to gauge interest on the following work that shall take place on the Deschutes Nation Forest within the Pringle Falls Experimental Forest. The work consists of HVAC replacement and mini-split installation on two separate historic buildings. See below for additional details:
1. Administration Building – Removing the existing oil furnace and replacing it with an Electric Furnace and Heat Pump installation. Square feet of flooring are as follows: 1st floor (1416 sf), 2nd floor (300 sf), for a total of 1716 sf. The Administration Building is a Historic structure. The Administration Building at the Pringle Falls Experimental Forest is utilized annually April – October (heating/cooling) and November – March the building is in a non-occupied mode with required HVAC to preserve building and prevent water line freezing.
2. Pringle Falls Experimental Forest Cabin – Removing existing base board heaters and associated parts and installing a Mini-Split system. The Square foot area the Mini-Split system will be providing heat and air conditioning to is approximately 420 square feet. The Cabin Building at the Pringle Falls Experimental Forest is utilized about six months by Forest Service personal and visiting Scientists.
The estimated project start date is 07/15/2025. The RFI invites responses from interested parties to email your information to Loren Mein at (loren.mein@usda.gov) no later than June 13, 2025 1500 PT. Your response allows us to gauge interest in this particular project and determines our acquisition strategy moving forward.
