STATEMENT OF WORK
Pocket Mobile Worksurfaces

IDENTIFICATION OF THE AGENCY AND THE CONTRACTING ACTIVITY:
The overall purpose is to provide Pocket Mobile Workstations for the nursing staff at the KCVA 4801 Linwood Blvd. Kansas City MO 64128, that meet the VHA IDIQ specifications. This is to help keep up with the influx of staff as well as support connected care from task to task and space to space.
INTRODUCTION:
The request is to obtain mobile workstations for the nursing staff to optimize workflow. The previously used mobile workstations have completed their life cycle, and/or are damaged with irreversible repair. These mobile workstations need to be replaced on a larger scale to keep up with the supply and demand of these units.
DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTION BEING APPROVED:
This action is to request the procurement for a delivery order for the purchase of the Steelcase Pocket Mobile Workstations and/or something of equal quality and value.

DESCRIPTION OF SUPPLIES REQUIRED:
Contractor shall provide the following salient characteristics for the items:
TECHNICAL PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS:
Pocket is constructed of 35% recycled content: 24% post consumer content; 10% pre consumer content Pocket is 97% recyclable at end of life.
Made up of parts which can be easily disassembled to sort for recycling. Overall Dimensions
Fixed model height: 36
Adjustable model height: 41 max, 38-3/8 min. Width: 22
Depths: 22-1/2 (measured at top).
Rectangular shape features generously radiused corners and a waterfall front edge, good for use as an armrest when using a keyboard.
Durable one-piece steel top is seamless for ease of cleaning and to allow use of magnetic accessories. Full-width integral handle provides ease of transport.
Molded soft plastic cubby is included for cable storage. Accessories are removable without tools for ease of cleaning.
Features an elongated hole in the bottom for cable/cord pass through and drainage. Column and Base:
Base is 19-1/2 W x 20-1/2 D.C.1.3.2
Four swivel, hooded casters with soft TPE plastic 4 diameter wheels ensure quiet and easy mobility. Two casters feature foot-actuated, quick-locking mechanisms.

Base does not exceed 8-1/4 in height to ensure easy maneuverability. Base is constructed of powder-coated diecast aluminum.
Fixed height and height-adjustable (pneumatic-assist) column models are offered.
Height-adjustable models feature a paddle actuator on the right-hand side of the underside of the top.
Lower half of telescoping height-adjustable column features an integral cable/cord management ring as part of its cap.
Two Bin Unit
A column-mounted steel enclosure with two sliding drawers Drawers feature integral full width pulls.
Drawers feature molded slides with in and out stops. Interchangeable drawers are easily removable for cleaning.
Interior dimensions of drawers are 12 wide x 8-1/2 deep x 4 high.
Cubby is an injection molded plastic part for minimal seams. Cubby is lifted out of its hole in the top for cleaning. Fixed column and lower half of telescoping height-adjustable column are rectangular (3-1/2 x 4-1/2 ) with rounded corners. Top (moving) half of height-adjustable column is cylindrical (2-3/4 dia.). Columns are aluminum.
Pneumatic cylinder is used to assist height adjustments. Machine screws hold the top and base tightly to the column. Base and Casters:
Base features four legs and is diecast aluminum. Casters are single-wheel, hooded swivel type.
Two Bin Unit features sheet steel back and sides, with plastic drawers, top and bottom. Mobile Worksurface
Post and base are powder coat painted a neutral light gray ( Seagull ) color. Cubby, scanner holder, cup holder and casters are medium ( Platinum ) gray.
Two Bin Unit back and sides are powder-coat painted a neutral light gray ( Seagull ) color. Front, top and bottom are molded in a blue-gray ( Coastal ) color.
Product is factory-assembled.

e. Cart must hold a minimum of 30 lbs.

g. Finishes shall be rust resistant and be easily cleanable.

h. A design that allows free exchange of internal components such as drawers, shelves, trays, etc. without the need for tools to exchange the components.

SHIPPING:
Prior to manufacturing, all finishes and options should be verified with the Interior Design team of the Kansas City VA Medical Center.

WARRANTY:
Manufacturer shall warrant and imply that the items delivered here under are merchantable, fit for use for the particular purpose and will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of delivery. Contractor will replace all parts found defective within the period with cost of replacement,
including any shipping costs, to be borne by the Contractor. Under no circumstance will any equipment covered by the guarantee be returned without (a) advance written notice to the contractor or (b) obtaining shipping instructions from the Contractor.
