SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy. As a management and operating contractor, subcontracts awarded by the Laboratory are not Federal procurements, and are not directly subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulations in 48 CFR. Nonetheless, certain Federal laws, Executive Orders, and regulations may affect our DOE approved purchasing system, as required by statute, regulation, or contract terms and conditions.

• The Flange must be - DN 40 CF-F.


• Pneumatic double acting must be with solenoid valve and with position indicator.


• Body: A dimension must be customer specific 60 mm


• Plate: window round must be 12 mm; window material must be sapphire.


• Vendor must satisfy the pressure range from SLAC level 1 UHV criterion to 2 bar(abs).


• Differential pressure must be ≤ 2 bar on gate, ≤ 1 bar at opening.


• Conductance must satisfy 100 ls-1


• The Bake-out temperature must be ≤ 300 °C for valve body, ≤ 200 °C for actuator (for max 100h), ≤ 80 °C for Position indicator, ≤ 80 °C Solenoid.


• Heating and cooling rate must be ≤ 50 °C h-1.


• Material must be following.

– Valve body : 1.4435, AISI 316 L

– Flange : 1.4435 ESU, AISI 316 L ESR

– Gate : 1.4435, AISI 316 L

– Mechanism : 1.4435, AISI 316 L

– Bellows : 1.4435, AISI 316 L

• The seal must be followings.

– Bonnet metal: silver plated

– Gate metal: silver plated

– Actuator: FKM (Viton®)

• Radiation resistance must be followings.

– Valve body : 108 Gy (1010 rad)

– Actuator : 105 Gy (107 rad)

– Position indicator : 105 Gy (107 rad)

– Solenoid : 104 Gy (106 rad)

• Volume of pneumatic actuator must be 0.27 l / 0.01 ft3.


• Compressed air min. – max. overpressure must be 4 - 8 bar / 58 - 116 psig.


• Compressed air connections must be G ⅛” (USA: ⅛" NPT).


• Actuation time must be following.

– Closing : ≤ 1.5 sec

– Opening : ≤ 1.5 sec

• Behavior in case of compressed air pressure drop must be following.


• When the valve is closed, the valve must remain in closed position at the drop.


• Behavior in case of power failure must be following.


• When the valve is closed, Valve must remain in closed position.


• When the valve is open, Valve must be closed.


• Delivery on-site as soon as possible.


• Less than 20 weeks AROrequired.

August 2023) will be made a part of the resulting order. Please mark up terms and conditions if you wish to negotiate. No mark ups mean that you accept SLAC Terms and Conditions.
