The City of Wentzville (the “City”) seeks sealed bids from qualified contractors for:
Mexico Road Improvements
The Mexico Road Improvement Project (“Project”) shall consist of widening 4’ on both sides of the existing roadbed,
resurfacing the entire roadbed with a 2” overlay, realigning the Hancock Road approach, adding left turns and Rectangular
Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB’s) at the intersection of Westwind Park Drive / Pleasant Breeze Lane, new sidewalk from
Lakeview Elementary School to Westwind Park Drive, grading for new roadside ditches, signing, pavement marking, and other
miscellaneous work as required to complete the project.
Bidders are required to submit their bid response electronically through the City’s eBidding system no later than the time and
date specified in the eBidding system (May 22, 2026 at 2:00pm Central Time). The bid opening occurs electronically on the
date/time specified in the eBidding system. When the City electronically unseals the bid, the bid tabulation will be immediately
available on the eBidding system on our website at City of Wentzville, Missouri (ionwave.net)
Bid documents and plans are available on the City’s Bid Opportunities website Bid Opportunities -City of Wentzville
(wentzvillemo.gov) You will be required to create a no-cost log-in to download the bid documents and submit your bid.
Questions regarding this project shall be submitted through the eBidding system by the date and time specified in the eBidding
system (May 13, 2025).
The City intends to award the contract to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder. The City reserves the right to reject any
and all bids, and to waive any irregularities.
All bidders must be on MoDOT’s Qualified Contractor List per Section 102.2 of the Missouri Standard Specifications for
Highway Construction, 2011 Edition including all revisions. The contractor questionnaire must be on file 7 days prior to bid
opening.
Bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid amount shall accompany each bid in accordance with the Notice
to Contractors paragraph 5 “Bid Guaranty”.
The DBE Goal for this project is 0%. DBE participation is recommended and DBE Firms must be listed in the MRCC DBE
Directory located on MoDOT’s website at www.modot.gov in order to be counted as participants. We encourage DBE Firms
to submit qualifications as prime consultants for any project they feel can be managed by their Firm.
Contractors and sub-contractors who sign a contract to work on public works project provide a 10-Hour OSHA construction
safety program, or similar program approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, to be completed by their
on-site employees within sixty (60) days of beginning work on the construction project.
The City of Wentzville hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to
this advertisement, businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals will be afforded
full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color,
religion, creed, sex, age, ancestry, or national origin in consideration for an award.
All labor used in the construction of this public improvement shall be paid a wage no less than the prevailing hourly rate of
wages of work of a similar character in this locality as established by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (Federal
Wage Rate), or state wage rate, whichever is higher.
