The Work under this Project generally consists of brick sidewalk, concrete steps with handrails, CG-12 ramps, lighting, wooden bollards, split rail fencing, and landscaping for the City of Williamsburg.
This project will be locally administered by the City of Williamsburg.
General Description of Work:
Clearing & Grubbing:
Shall include the removal and legal disposal of any trees and vegetation such as dead or invasive from within the limits of disturbance as defined on the construction drawings. This item shall include the removal of all trees identified to be removed on the construction drawings.
Demolition:
Shall include the removal and legal disposal of existing pavement, concrete, curb and gutter, and board fence from within the limits of disturbance as defined on the construction drawings. Item shall include all work related to the removal of material for installation of detectable warning surface within existing ramps.
Earthwork:
Shall include all material removal, rough grading, and final grading within the limits of disturbance. This item shall include the removal and legal disposal of all excess material from the project site that is not included in the Demolition bid item.
Concrete Steps:
Shall include all materials, labor, and equipment to construct and install the steps as shown on the detail sheet in the location identified on the plan sheet of the construction drawings. This bid item includes any handrails shown on the detail.
Split Rail Wooden Fence:
Contractor shall submit shop drawings and a sample of wood for fencing for review and approval by the City.
Wooden Bollards:
Contractor shall submit shop drawings for the bollards for review and approval by the City.
Relocation of Existing Fence:
Shall include all digging, drilling, and backfilling for the installation of existing posts in new locations. This item shall include replacing all damaged or broken posts and railings that are caused by negligence of the contractor, or as specified by the City to be replaced.
Geogrid Material:
Contractor shall submit to the City a sample of this material for review and approval.
Rustic Benches, Types A, C, & K:
Contractor shall submit shop drawings of each type of bench to be constructed and placed for the project for review and approval by the City.
Deciduous & Evergreen Shrubs:
Shall include all named species identified on sheet L1.1 and planted according to sheets L1.1 and L1.2
Ground Cover:
Shall include all species identified on sheet L1.1 and planted according to sheets L1.1 and L1.2.
