SOUTH WATER TOWER CONTROL VALVE REPLACEMENTS
PROJECT NO. E26-0030

Sealed bids will be received by the City of Port Huron, Michigan, by mail or in person in the office of the City Clerk, 1st Floor, 100 McMorran Boulevard, Port Huron, Michigan 48060, until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, and immediately thereafter the bids will be publicly opened and read in Meeting Room 101 of the aforesaid Municipal Office Center.

JOB DESCRIPTION: 	
The work includes furnish all labor, material, and equipment to remove and replace three (3) 20-inch gate valves and a 20-inch altitude valve within a concrete vault used to control water into and out of the Citys elevated south water tower. The scope includes removing and replacing the concrete vault top, installing access hatches and ladder, replacing the valves, new electrical and lighting, installation of automation control, and coating the vault interior for a watertight environment per project plans and specifications.  The project is located at the Citys Department of Public Works Bancroft Facility, 1812 Bancroft Street, Port Huron, Michigan.   

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on May 14, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Water Filtration Plant located at 1200 Pine Grove Avenue.    

Bidding documents including drawings and project manual contract documents, instruction to bidders, proposal form, agreement and specifications may be examined and shall be obtained from the Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network (MITN) website by BidNet Connect, located at  HYPERLINK "https://www.bidnetdirect.com/mitn" https://www.bidnetdirect.com/mitn beginning on May 4, 2026.  All bidders shall obtain a complete set of bid documents, including all posted addenda, from the City of Port Huron via MITN.
 
A certified check payable to the City of Port Huron, or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and a surety company, in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid, shall be submitted with each bid.  No bid may be withdrawn for at least ninety (90) days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids.  All bids must be submitted on proposal forms provided by the City of Port Huron for that purpose.

The City of Port Huron reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any defects or irregularities in the bid, and to accept any bid which is deemed most advantageous to the said City's interests. The successful bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory performance, labor and materials bonds, maintenance and guarantee bonds, and insurance certificates.

All bidders are required to qualify according to the bidder qualification regulations for contractors bidding on City of Port Huron contracts as set forth in the instruction to bidders.
