The City through its Department of Parks, Buildings & Recreation Management – Facilities Division is seeking bids from qualified firms to enter into an agreement to renovate existing classrooms into medical assistant classrooms.
Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be received until 2:00 PM on January 22, 2025, publicly opened, forthwith online.
Filed sub-bids for the trades listed below will be received until 12:00 PM on January 14, 2025, and publicly opened, forthwith online.
The City of Springfield, invites electronic bids from Prime Contractors and Filed Sub-Bidders through biddocsonline. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes. Chapter 149 requires that the Prime/General Contractor be certified by the State Division of Capital Asset Management in the category, “General Contractor.” Filed sub-bidders must be DCAMM certified for the trades listed below, and bidders must include a current DCAMM Sub-Bidder Certificate of Eligibility and signed DCAMM Sub-Bidder’s Update Statement.

Estimated cost of the project is One Hundred Eighty Thousand Dollars ($180,000.00). The Sub-Bidders will be required to pay State Prevailing Wages whenever applicable.
Site Visit: Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend a site visit at 1250 State St. Springfield, MA 01109 scheduled for January 7, 2025 at 10:00 AM. Contact: Rafal Toczko, RT Architecture, Inc; rtoczko@rt-architecture.com with inquiries concerning the pre-bid site visit. This meeting will provide an opportunity for interested parties to inspect the site and all particulars and resolve questions regarding the scope of work, existing conditions and the specifications.
Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available December 18, 2024 at www.biddocs.com (may be viewed electronically and downloaded at no cost) or hard copies may be purchased at Nashoba Blue, Inc. at 433 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (978-568-1167).
Questions must be submitted in writing to the City (nwalker@springfieldcityhall.com) by close of business on 1/8/25 for filed sub bidders and by close of business on 1/14/25 for general bidders in order to be considered. The City of Springfield goal of twenty percent (20%) MWBE participation applies. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety Prevailing Wage rates apply. The Chief Procurement Officer/Designee reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so.
