Notice to Contractors: Gulf Village Drainage Improvement Project

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS:

Sealed Bids for the construction of the GULF VILLAGE DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT will be received by the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program, at their office located 118 North Royal Street, Suite 601, Mobile, Alabama 36602 until October 30th, 2025 until 2 PM (CDT). At which time, the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. A cashier’s check or bid bond payable to Mobile Bay National Estuary Program in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder’s proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract.

The work includes the restoration and enhancement of an existing swale to a wet enhanced swale along 1,555 linear feet of ephemeral drainage in Prichard, Alabama. The project will include clearing, grubbing, excavation, grading, installing weir structures, installation and maintenance of erosion control, and emergent and riparian planting and landscaping. Stream level structures include concrete weirs and limited riprap. Stabilization includes temporary and permanent seeding. Planting and landscaping include installation of upland seed mixes, sod, and plugs.

A Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be conducted on October 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM (CDT) at the Gulf Village office at 2002 Ball Ave., Prichard, AL 36510. A site visit shall be conducted immediately following the meeting.
