Summary:The purpose of this solicitation is to establish a purchasing requirement for a heavy duty equipment carrier truck body to be installed on a 66,000 lbs. GVWR truck chassis, to include flatbed with boxes and accessories, for use by the Virginia Department of Forestry (DOF), State Agencies, and other Public Bodies of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
The specifications attached hereto describe the minimum requirements for a quantity of ten (10) heavy duty platform truck bodies for use in transporting John Deere 450K or CATERPILLAR D3K2 heavy duty firefighting tracked dozers. The heavy duty platform truck bodies shall be custom fabricated, including all labor and materials to assemble the truck body and all necessary elements, accessories and incidentals required to produce the completed vehicles to meet or exceed the specifications requirements contained in this document. The awarded Contractor must custom fabricate the specified heavy duty platform truck bodies and assemble them onto the model year 2026 Peterbilt 567 dozer chassis purchased and supplied by DOF. Peterbilt of Richmond will deliver the Peterbilt 567 dozer chassis to the body builder’s site where they will be safely stored and assembled. - Round Information:The VBO posting has been corrected to specify a Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference as stated in the IFB document. Addendum #1 must be signed and submitted with your bid.
