Project Description: The objective of this work is to develop a multi-faceted Dallas Water Systems modeling framework for planning, seasonal outlook and short-range operational management of the water supply system. First, the existing monthly RiverWare model will be revised to incorporate seasonal supply and demand projections, providing early outlooks and preparedness in the event of potential shortages. Secondly, a new forecast-informed, short-range operational and management model will be developed to support the operational efficiency, enhance reliability, and resilience of the Dallas Water Supply System through optimized water allocation and scheduling using state-of-the art scientific methods and tools.
