5 Supplier Agreement
The University of Missouri expects the awarded Supplier to comply with all terms outlined in the General Terms and
Conditions included with this solicitation. If the awarded supplier requires a separate agreement to be executed in
addition to this RFB and its responsive proposal, such agreement shall be incorporated into the final contract
award. However, the Supplier's agreement shall not supersede or conflict with the University's terms unless agreed
to by the University. Supplier's agreement must be attached on the Response Attachment tab in an editable Word
Document format in order to be considered by the University. Any hyperlinked terms must also be attached in an
editable Word Document format. The University will not accept hyperlinked terms, and any such
hyperlinked terms are hereby rejected.

SUA - Payment settles using Due Immediate pay terms. The Single Use Account option is an electronically
issued single use MasterCard payment, which avoids delays. Please complete this SUA Enrollment Form.
ACH - Standard settlement terms are Net 30 but may be escalated if early pay discounts are offered.
Payment is made electronically which avoids delays and eliminates the potential for interception. Payment
can settle as soon as next day. If ACH is chosen and respondent is awarded, an email invitation will be sent to
register in PaymentWorks in order to securely provide your ACH information.

The award will be based on the lowest bid price meeting all specifications. The University reserves the right to
award an order to the lowest aggregate Supplier for all items, on an item-by-item basis, or by groups of like items—
whichever is determined to be in the best interest of the University. While the University’s preference is to
award to a single Supplier to maintain streamlined service, support, and component supply, the
University may issue a split award if it is found to be in the University’s best interest. If a split award is not
acceptable to a Supplier, it must be clearly stated in the bid response.

1 Background Information
6 Missouri S&T -The Missouri Protoplex brings education and workforce development resources to American
manufacturers - specifically those located in Missouri - to become more competitive in the global market through
advanced manufacturing technology, processes, and materials.
1 Scope of Work
7 The scope of this bid is to provide, install, train, and maintain a low-temperature oven and high temperature heat
treatment furnace, along with any necessary supplementary components, software (if applicable), and accessories
required to fully operate and integrate the equipment into existing workflows.
1 Requirements
8 High Temperature Heat Treatment Furnace
High Temperature Furnace: This furnace will likely be primarily used for annealing of wire spools, but there are
multiple assorted projects that require different heat treatment studies on steels. This furnace will also be required
for sintering of stainless materials printed in certain technologies.
The equipment described below has been specified to support both an industrial and a fundamental research need
in addition to providing a unique educational opportunity from the K-12 to the graduate education level.
Vendors must be able to acknowledge any customer reported issues within 24 hours. As part of this bid submission,
vendors must specify their standard response time for dispatching in person service when required. Vendors must
also provide the average lead time for in stock consumable items, including but not limited to element replacements.
Low Temperature Oven
Low Temperature Oven: This oven will be primarily used in three areas. The first is heat treatment of Al cold spray
specimens (and potentially other additive Al parts) which can include a sintering stage but then typically follows a
standard T6. The second area is tempering of steels. The third area is likely hydrogen bakes post EDM (100°C for
16+ hours).
The equipment described below has been specified to support both an industrial and a fundamental research need
in addition to providing a unique educational opportunity from the K-12 to the graduate education level.
Vendors must be able to acknowledge any customer reported issues within 24 hours. As part of this bid submission,
vendors must specify their standard response time for dispatching in person service when required. Vendors must
also provide the average lead time for in stock consumable items, including but not limited to element

1 Detailed Specifications
9 High Temperature Heat Treatment Furnace
i. Furnace Shell
1. The furnace shell should be heavy duty and rigid and should be freestanding on its own or mounted on a base
that allows it to be freestanding.
2. The furnace should be well insulated to ensure minimal heat loss.
3. Door should open in a way that keeps the hotface surface away from the operator be that a double pivot
horizontal swing or a vertical lift door.
4. Furnace should have removable side covers for the heating element terminal areas to allow for ease of
replacement of worn out or broken heating elements.
5. The furnace box should have a chamber opening of 24”H x 24”W x 36” Deep.
6. Furnace should be capable of accommodating a weight of at least 75 lbs/sq ft of hearth space (450 lbs total).
7. Furnace construction should be free of asbestos.
8. Optional atmosphere ports should be quoted if available. These would allow chamber to be flooded with argon
or nitrogen if desired to provide some amount of innerting effect.
