Pharmacy Automation Dispensing Cabinets - Notice of Future Solicitation
This is a Pre-Solicitation announcement to inform potential offerors of the Department of Veterans Affairs intent to advertise a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the provision of Pharmacy Automation Dispensing Cabinets for the Puget Sound Health Care System.
Background
The Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS) requires a comprehensive system replacement to meet advancements in software and technological advances. This Inpatient Pharmacy Medication Management Automation System must include automated dispensing cabinets for secured storage of medications through the pharmacy, outpatient clinics, and wards, as well as specifically designed anesthesia workstations for operating rooms. This includes the medication storage hardware (automated dispensing cabinets, auxiliaries, and anesthesia stations), enterprise server system, and software interfaces connecting the automated dispensing cabinets to VistA. While Pharmacy Clinical Service is the service line requesting this Inpatient Pharmacy Medication Management Automation System, nursing, anesthesiology services, and other select provider services require this system as well to perform their basic medication administration functions.
Next Steps
VA plans to release the Request for Proposal (RFP) for one (1) IDIQ. To be considered, offerors must be fully mission capable, with expertise (capability and experience) in all areas.

Please note that there is currently no solicitation. No responses or questions will be accepted at this time. VA will post an official RFP to SAM.gov when the solicitation is available.
Anticipated Acquisition Strategy/ Socio-economic: Unrestricted open market to establish single award IDIQ contract.
All offerors must also be registered in SAM to be eligible.
Anticipated Dates/Process: RFP release, Q&A, proposal submission, evaluations and awards May 2025- July 2025.
