Overview
Summary

The City of Sierra Vista is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide on-call auto-body and collision repair services for the City’s fleet of vehicles. Services will cover a wide range of vehicles including passenger cars, light- and heavy-duty trucks, public safety vehicles (police, fire, and ambulance), buses, and other specialized equipment as needed.

The selected contractor(s) will furnish all necessary labor, supervision, tools, equipment, and materials to perform high-quality repairs in a timely and cost-effective manner. Work may include, but is not limited to, collision repair, dent removal, frame straightening, body panel replacement, sanding, painting, refinishing, and restoration to manufacturer or industry standards.

This is an on-call contract, meaning services will be requested as needs arise. Contractors must demonstrate the ability to respond promptly, accommodate varying levels of repair work, and ensure vehicles are returned to safe and fully functional condition.

The City intends to establish a contract with one or more vendors for a fixed term, with optional renewals, to ensure availability of reliable repair services while maintaining fiscal responsibility and maximizing competition.

Background

The City of Sierra Vista, Arizona is located in Cochise County, approximately 1½ hours south of Tucson. Current population is 45,308

The City maintains and operates a diverse municipal fleet of approximately 480 vehicles. This fleet supports a wide range of public services and includes passenger vehicles, light- and heavy-duty trucks, transit buses, specialized equipment, and critical public safety assets such as police units, fire apparatus, and ambulances. The reliability and safety of this fleet are essential to ensuring that City departments can deliver uninterrupted services to the community.

To sustain this level of service, the City seeks to establish an on-call contract for auto-body and collision repair services. On-call services provide the City with the flexibility to respond quickly to repair needs, minimize downtime, and ensure vehicles are restored to safe operating conditions in a cost-effective manner. An on-call arrangement is particularly valuable given the range of vehicle types in the City’s fleet and the need for timely, professional repair work that meets safety and compliance standards.

By engaging qualified vendors through this solicitation, the City intends to ensure efficient operations, preserve the useful life of its fleet, and support the delivery of essential public services to the residents of Sierra Vista
