2024 HRE Tributary Restoration and Resiliency

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is pleased to announce funding for projects that will implement priorities of the Hudson River Estuary Action Agenda - to conserve restore and revitalize the estuary and its ecosystem. The DEC anticipates approximately $800,000 in available funding for Tributary Restoration and Resiliency projects. Funding for this grant opportunity is provided by the NYS Environmental Protection Fund. Projects must implement objectives of the Hudson River Estuary Action Agenda (https://dec.ny.gov/nature/waterbodies/oceans-estuaries/hudson-river-estuary-program/action-agenda). Specifically, projects must conserve and restore aquatic habitat connectivity for river herring and/or American eel found in the tributary streams of the Estuary watershed. Projects that do not conserve and restore aquatic habitat connectivity for river herring or eel will not be deemed eligible.
