Scope of Work

  1. Work to be Done

Job Title: 04 - Campus Center Restoration F Wing Room F102

SUNY Old Westbury is soliciting bids to provide removal and restoration of room F102 and joining accessory rooms.

The following scope of work is based off of mandatory site walk observation by the bidder.

The scope of work is as follows:

  • Cap all plumbing supplies and drains behind finish sheetrock, with the exception of one hot / cold supply and drain to remain in (4) four small accessory rooms.
  • Remove and dispose of all plumbing fixtures
  • Remove and dispose of all cabinetry and countertops
  • Patch, repair, paint all walls in (9) accessory rooms total inclusive of above with plumbing work
  • Remove and replace (500) five hundred SF of VCT 1X1 flooring

Bids are to include all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to perform the work described above.

SCHEDULE:

Completion is to be before January 27, 2025

Contractor to provide preliminary schedule for lead time of all main materials with their bid.

Work not included in the work of the Contract are those outside of the area of work.

SECTION B ? Alternates

  1. General

  1. Refer to Proposal Form. State thereon the amount to be added to or deducted from the Total Bid for the Alternates described herein.

  1. Extent and details of the Alternates are indicated on the Drawings, and described in the Specifications.

  1. Where reference is made in the description of the Alternate to products, materials, or workmanship, the specification requirements applicable to similar products, materials or workmanship in the Total Bid shall govern the products, materials, and workmanship of the Alternate as if these specification requirements were included in full in the description of the Alternates.

  1. ADD Alternates

ADD Alternate 1

  • Prepare surfaces paint interior room Sheetrock walls
  • Prepare surfaces and paint all wood doors
  • Prepare surfaces and paint all metal doors, columns, window framing in room “and hallway side”
  • Prepare surfaces and paint open web joint ceiling and duct work by spray application

ADD Alternate 2

  • Provide and install (4) four ceiling mounted Retractable Power Cord Reel by Uline Model H-5643 (13 Amp) or equal adjacent to (4) ceiling mounted duplex outlets to power them.
  • Provide and install (8) quad power outlets along walls as noted at bid walk, with surface mounted steel conduit runs to ceiling and power source when exposed.
  • Install new HM door and hardware in wall where noted at bid.
  • Remove wall between (2) accessory rooms where noted at bid walk. Patch, repair, paint.

SECTION C - Special Conditions

  1. Time Progress Schedule

  1. The work is to be completed over the campus winter break between December 19, 2024 and January 27, 2025.

  1. The Contractor shall schedule the Work for expeditious completion in accordance with Section 3.01(2) of the Agreement. The proposed schedule must be established in cooperation with the Campus and account for Campus calendar restrictions listed in this section that affect the Contractor’s access to the work areas and construction activities. At each periodic meeting, the Time Progress Schedule required by Section 3.02 of the Agreement shall be reviewed for compliance with phasing requirements. Revise and update the Time Progress Schedule to properly depict the work required to maintain continuity of campus operations.
