RFx Description NOTICE is hereby given that the Town of Georgetown, Mississippi, will receive written sealed bids until the hour of 10:00 am local time on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at the office of the Town of Georgetown located at 1048 Poplar Street, Georgetown, MS 39078 for the furnishing of all labor and materials, and for performing all activities specified in the Contract Documents, for the construction of the 2024 CDBG Drainage Improvements.
The project includes the cleaning and grading of the existing ditch system in Georgetown, MS. Driveway and roadway culverts will be replaced as needed to match the grade of the designed ditch. The Contract Time will be One Hundred Twenty (120) consecutive calendar days, and the liquidated damages will be $200 per consecutive calendar day thereafter

NOTICE is hereby given that the Town of Georgetown, Mississippi, will receive written sealed bids until
the hour of 10:00 am local time on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at the office of the Town of Georgetown
located at 1048 Poplar Street, Georgetown, MS 39078 for the furnishing of all labor and materials, and for
performing all activities specified in the Contract Documents, for the construction of the 2024 CDBG
Drainage Improvements.
The project includes the cleaning and grading of the existing ditch system in Georgetown, MS.
Driveway and roadway culverts will be replaced as needed to match the grade of the designed ditch.
The Contract Time will be One Hundred Twenty (120) consecutive calendar days, and the liquidated
damages will be $200 per consecutive calendar day thereafter.
Plans, contract documents and proposal forms are on file for public inspection in the office of the
Town of Georgetown, 1048 Poplar Street, Georgetown, MS 39078, and in the office of the Engineer,
WGK, Inc., 204 W. Leake St., Clinton, MS 39056. All documents required for bidding purposes, including
specifications and plans, may be viewed for free at www.wgkengineersprojects.com. Documents may be
downloaded for a non-refundable charge of $75. Hard Copies are also available for ordering online for a

Bids for this work will be accepted only under the name of the Bidder to whom the Contract
Documents and Addenda, if any, have been issued by the Engineer. Bids received by bidders to whom
the Contract Documents were not issued by the Engineer will be returned unopened.
State law requires a non-resident bidder to attach/include a copy of his resident state’s current
law pertaining to such state’s treatment of non-resident contractors with their bid. Any bid submitted by
a non-resident contractor which does not include the non-resident contractor’s current state law shall be
rejected and not considered for award.
All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the hour of 10:00 am, local time on Thursday, July
30, 2026, at the office of the Town Hall located at Town of Georgetown, 1048 Poplar Street, Georgetown,
MS, 39078. Bids will be considered by the Town of Georgetown at or before the next regular meeting
thereof to be held within thirty (30) days of the date of receipt of bids.
Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 requires that the Town and
contractors participating in CDBG projects give opportunities for job training and employment to lower
income residents of the Section 3 area that is described as the Town of Georgetown. Section 3 also
requires that “to the maximum extent feasible” contracts for work in connection with Section 3 covered
projects be awarded to business concerns that are located in or owned in substantial part by persons
residing in the Section 3 area.
The Town of Georgetown reserves the right to waive any and all informalities in the bidding and to
reject any and all bids.
