SALE ADVERTISEMENT

North Ochlockonee 25/26 Timber Sale

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service is seeking sealed bids for the sale of timber. This sale is a clear-cut of approximately 193 acres of loblolly, slash and hardwood on the North Ochlockonee Tract of Lake Talquin State Forest in Leon County, Florida (see attached maps).  All trees not marked with blue or orange paint within the sale area are available for harvest. All trees and shrubs greater than 2 inches in diameter at breast height, but smaller than the included product specifications, must also be cut or laid down with the exception of live oaks greater than 10 inches in diameter at breast height. Sale boundaries include roads, fire lines, obvious changes of timber type, and trees marked in blue paint. Estimated volumes for the sale are as follows: 2,317 tons of pine pulpwood, 1,433 tons of pine chip-n-saw, 2,584 tons of pine sawtimber, 5,903 tons of hardwood pulpwood, and 1,805 tons of pine top wood. Pine top wood is an alternate product that can be bid on but will not be used to determine a winning bidder.  If the winning bidder chooses to bid on pine top wood, then they will be expected to harvest all pine top wood within the contract specifications. This is a twelve (12) month contract. The Florida Forest Service reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularity in bids received.
