Notice of Proposed

Issuance of an Alaska Pollutant Discharge Elimination System

(APDES) General

Permits to Discharge

to Waters of the

United States

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has tentatively determined to reissue the following two discharge permits for the activities described

below.

• Permit No.: AKG002000 Excavation Dewatering

• Permit No.: AKG003000 Hydrostatic & Aquifer Pump Testing (mineral mining development only)

Applicants with discharges associated with Excavation Dewatering, Hydrostatic Testing, or Aquifer Pump Testing (for mineral mining and development only) are authorized to discharge to waters of the U.S. or to waters of the State or land, in accordance with effluent limitations, monitoring requirements, and other conditions set forth in the statewide general permits.

Any person desiring to comment on the permit may submit comments electronically via the DEC public notice website (preferred) at https://dec.alaska.gov/commish/public-notices/ Comments or requests and must be submitted (mailed must be postmarked) on or before the expiration date of the public notice. A request for public hearing on the APDES draft permit must be submitted within 30 days of the issuance of this public

notice.
