Project Description: Sealed Bids for the Mahanoy City – Veterans Park Monument and Lighting Project will be received by the Mahanoy City Borough online via the PennBid Program until Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. (prevailing time) and will be publicly announced on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 6:30 P.M. during the Workshop meeting of Mahanoy City Borough. Bid results will be available online at http://PennBid.bonfirehub.com following the Borough Council Meeting on May 13, 2025.
The project includes construction of a monument foundation and the placement of a monument provided by the Borough and associated lighting at Veterans Park. Improvements include flag poles, concrete sidewalks, electrical distribution, site lighting, and other site amenities as needed. The items of work are identified more specifically in the Project Specifications.

A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the "Mahanoy City Borough”, negotiable US Government Bonds (at par value), or satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and acceptable surety in the amount of 10% of the Total Bid of construction shall be submitted with each bid.
THE SUCCESSFUL BIDDER will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price with a corporate surety approved by the Owner.
Attention is called to the fact that no less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, age, color, religion, sex, ancestry, national origin, or handicap. Contract will be awarded to the lowest respective bidder.
The Contractor will be required to comply with the Provisions of the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act in providing equal employment opportunities in connection with all work.
This bid is for a public works contract and bidder is therefore subject to the provisions, duties, obligations, and penalties of the Public Works Employment Verification Act, 43 P.S. 167.1-167.11. All submitted bids shall be accompanied with the Public Works Employment Verification Form.
The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bidding or to reject any or all bids or portions of bids for the best interest of the owner. No bidder shall withdraw a bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the Bid opening.
