Sign Shop Latex Printer, Plotter, Laminator, Applicator Table and Related Components

The City of Pontiac is soliciting competitive bids for the purchase, delivery, installation, setup, and training of a complete sign production system for municipal operations. The project includes a large-format latex printer, plotter/cutter, laminator, height-adjustable applicator table, hand squeeze roll applicators, required software, accessories, warranties, and operator training. The resulting equipment will enable the City to produce and maintain MUTCD-compliant traffic control signs, wayfinding signs, vehicle graphics, decals, and other municipal signage in-house.

The City of Pontiac maintains a wide variety of public infrastructure requiring consistent and compliant signage, including streets, parks, municipal facilities, public works assets, and traffic control devices. To improve operational efficiency, reduce outsourcing costs, enhance quality control, and provide faster response times for sign replacement and fabrication, the City seeks to modernize and expand its internal sign production capabilities.

The requested equipment package is designed to provide a complete workflow for municipal sign manufacturing. The latex printer will produce high-resolution graphics and traffic sign faces, while the plotter will accurately cut reflective materials and specialty graphics. The laminator will extend the service life of printed products through protective overlays, and the applicator equipment will facilitate professional installation of graphics onto aluminum, composite, acrylic, and other rigid sign substrates. Training requirements ensure City personnel are capable of safely operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the equipment while producing MUTCD-compliant signage.
